Successful SoMe campaign promoting LED light bulbs

In contrast to LED light bulbs and incandescent bulbs, energy-saving light bulbs contain the health-damaging heavy metal mercury. The energy-saving light bulbs, which can be found in many Danish homes and workplaces, therefore constitute a significant part of the overall risk of being exposed to mercury (the energy-saving light bulbs are only dangerous if they break).

Rostra handled the Danish Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) campaign against energy-saving light bulbs and developed the positive message to choose LED instead. The campaign consisted of a wide range of activities. This included taking over the EPA’s landing page on Facebook during the campaign period to focus on the area of “chemistry in everyday life”, just as we promoted the campaign on Youtube, Google and Facebook.

The campaign on social media met its objectives by 191% thanks to 8.6 million impressions and 53,822 clicks. The Facebook takeover generated more traffic to the Danish Environmental Protection Agency’s website than any previous campaign had done before. The evaluation of the campaign showed that 70% of the recipients thought the campaign was good or very good. 60% mentioned the campaign as a reason why they now prefer to use LED bulbs.

Public debate on road safety

While Sweden, Norway and Germany all have rules for the use of winter tyres, in Denmark it is entirely voluntary whether you want to switch to seasonal tyres. One of the Danish Tyre Safety Council’s key issues is a need for a requirement for the use of winter tires in Denmark.

Rostra helps the council put winter tires and road safety on the public agenda.

Insight into the organization before and after implementing a new strategy

When Danfoss implemented a major change in their organization, objectives and internal communication, Rostra was asked to carry out a survey of the employees’ work processes, habits, knowledge and attitudes before and after the implementation of the strategy.

The study’s methodology was primarily based on focus group interviews, which Rostra conducted locally at Danfoss. The insights from the employee survey were a significant part of the basis for the strategic work of continuously developing the organization and its processes.

Campaign against cigarette stubs based on behavioral design

Cigarette stubs are a large part of the waste problem in many places. Therefore, Rostra has developed a campaign package with tools based on behavioral design and nudging, which can easily be implemented in places where cigarette stubs pile up in the wrong places.

Vestegnen HF & VUC are among those who have chosen to implement the campaign package. The school experienced an increasing problem with students and guests not complying with the school’s smoking policy for smoking zones and the use of ashtrays. The problem was both financial, aesthetic, time related as well as related to work environment.

After the campaign, Vestegnen HF & VUC has experienced significantly fewer cigarette stubs and less waste, just as the behavior of smokers has changed in a very positive direction. Compliance with the smoking policy is today the norm, unlike in the past, just as the campaign has created an awareness of good habits among smokers.
